How to use the mailing system
So as to be able to use our mailing system, you have to be logged in to your personal page. Two types of mailing systems are used. The first one consists of regular messages you receive from other users and the second system renders the messages subscribed to. Everything you have subscribed to in order to keep informed. Unread messages are indicated by a token envelope in front of the title. By clicking a message, the message is opened and a message can be sent in reply. By pressing compose a new message may be composed. It is also possible to ask an administrator of howiplaygolf a question from your mailing system.

How to select my golf news
At the bottom of your account page you will find your selected golf news. This is adjustable by clicking “manage news”. Subsequently you will find a pop-up screen where you may compose the desired golf news. Then click send and the new composition of your news items is rendered. In case you have a nice website failing to be rendered, please send a message to one of our administrators.

How to upload or eliminate a video
Your account page features a tab “add video”. Click it and fill in the detail you want to add to the video. If you agree with the conditions you may proceed to the next step of uploading the video. Click “browse” and a pop-up containing directories from your own computer opens up. Select your video and click to open. Click upload and wait for the video to be placed in its entirety. Leave the screen open until the video has been completely transferred. When the uploading process has been completed a message indicates that the uploading has been successful. Eliminating a video is done via tab page “my videos”.

I have placed a video, but I cannot find it.
In order to prevent undesired videos from appearing on the website, howiplaygolf.com has opted for moderators. All the videos are either cleared or rejected by one of our moderators. We try to do all this straightaway, but at times things may take a little longer than expected. Should a video be rejected for whatever reason, you will be informed of this.

How to adjust my profile data
Profile data can be adjusted through the account page. It features a tab page “Profile” for the adjustment of data.

How to place or eliminate a photo?
A photo is placed through the tab page pictures on the account page

How to create or eliminate a blog?
A blog is placed or eliminated through the tab page blogs on the account page

How to invite my golf friends?
Inviting one’s buddies is done through the member pages. After logging in a link appears here. Finding buddies back happens on your own account page through the “view buddies” link.

Can I invite potential users?
Inviting users not yet appearing on howiplaygolf, may be done through the account page using the “invite potential member” link. From here a message is sent to an e-mail address of your acquaintances and friends.

How to found a club?
Clubs may be founded by those who are members of howiplaygolf.com already. This may be done through the tab page “manage clubs” on your account page. Find here all the clubs created by you, in order to adjust them or to create a new club. After founding a (virtual) club of one’s own events may be organized through this club.

How to organize an event?
After creating one’s own club various types of events may well be organized such as inviting members for a round of golf, organizing a clinic, keeping a club competition up to date or organizing a tournament. Your club survey features a “manage events” link, click it and a new event can be started or adjusted for this club.

How to invite golfers to an event?
Through the search page go to members you would like to invite to the event and click the “invite for an event” link. The member is then invited to register for your club / event. When there is an open event the applications for participation enter through the mailing system. With closed events you yourself will have to invite the members.

How to replay the video in slow-motion?
The video page shows our video player with a “speedslider”. Move this slider to the speed wished for and the video will slow down in three stages

How to download a video from one’s own website?
Downloading a video and placing it on to one’s own website is not possible. However, a link may be established in which our video player is sent along. Below each video an embedding code is found which may be copied and pasted into one’s own website in order to be able to replay the video in slow motion through one’s own website.

How to add a tip or a remark to the video?
Adding a tip or remark is possible only when one has been logged in.

Yes, when starting a blog one may select a golf course

Where to become a member of a virtual club?
Becoming a club member or registering for an event is possible only after registration. The moment you have been logged in, a new button appears featuring registration for this club / event.

Events

How to invite someone for a round of golf?
A round of golf is placed as an event. In order to place an event a club has to be started first. And then this club can organize several events. In case of an open event other golfers may register and with a closed event the founder invites the golfers.

Which events may one become a member of?
It is open events only where one can apply for participation. Those wishing to participate in closed events will have to be invited by the founder.

What can I place at an event?
Linking members of club / event golf courses, placing videos and photos, writing blogs and displaying club / event members

Golf courses

Can I write a short piece on a golf course?
In order to be able to write a short piece on your favourite golf course, one should be logged in first. There it is possible to write a review of the golf courses you played at.

How to assess a golf course?
Once you are logged in you can assess a golf course. After logging in, giving an assessment of the environs, restaurant, driving range etc. is open to you.

Can I invite my home course members?
Golfers not yet registered on the website may be be invited through your home course page. This is possible by clicking the link “invite new course members” and placing your home course member’s e-mail address. Subsequently the recipient will get a message for them to become a member of the website. From then on the member will be registered for your home course.

My golf course is not there. What now?
Howiplaygolf.com makes an attempt to display all the golf courses in the world. In case it is your very golf course that is missing, there is a possiblity to add it. The golf course page  features a link “add a new course” for adding a new golf course. The administrators will either assess it or place it.
